The AC current from the generator has to be rectified to charge the battery, which buffers the surplus power. Furthermore a power controller and a voltage converter are activated before the battery. In order to protect the Rotor against overload the power controller limits the power extraction. The voltage converter keeps the voltage at a constant value of 13.6 V, with which the battery can be permanently charged. These tasks are usually covered by a charge controller.
The battery is connected via a 20 A fuse with the battery guard, which limits the maximum discharge current from the battery and protects the battery guard from overheating. The consumer electronics can be plugged into the car accessory socket, under the premise that their power consumption does not exceed the supply limitations of 20 A!
